Good news the clever lads at Modus engineering reckon they can fix the crack in the block by stitching it. Drilling small holes along the crack and glueing pins in it to stop it spreading and then covering it with liquid metal to stop the water leaking under pressure. More goods news the crankshaft has […]
On Friday I picked up my new pistons and liners from Colin Clarke Engineering. He has nearly completed the work on the Muira he has been working on recently. What a car and in the fabulous Pistachio Green. Good day turned to a bad one however when I took the parts to my engine rebuilders […]
Not much activity on the rebuild recently. New Job and plenty of travel to the USA. Although that might prove handy for parts. I have ordered a new set of pistons which come complete with gudgeon pins and all the rings in place. They also matched to the liners which I have also purchased. […]
I’ve now discovered that the gap between the pistons and the liners was between 7 and 10 thousandths of an inch. This is much too large and probably explains the compression issue on cylinder 6. I don’t know if the others are the same but I have decided to replace all the pistons and liners.
